The Best Luxury Breaks In The UK - MirrorMePR
You are here:

Fancy a ‘staycation’ in the UK? If the idea of arriving at the airport 4 hours early at some unreasonable hour in the morning, long flight delays, not to mention the traffic to and from the airport, makes a long weekend break overseas seem less than appealing, then this blog is for you. Sit back and relax as the Luxury PR Team share a few of their favourite get-aways and uncover some of the best luxury breaks in the UK:

A Contemporary Find In The Cotswolds

If contemporary and the Cotswolds are your thing, then The Lakes By Yoo  is for you. These luxury villas by designers Yoo Studio (co-founded by Philippe Stark no less) are avant-garde gorgeousness overload. Imagine egg shaped bath tubs, man-made lakes, on-site treatment rooms and gym classes and on-site eatery for breakfast and lunch. Simplistic and stylish.

Hunting For Something Different

A former Medieval Hunting Lodge in the depths of a Hampshire forest is the contemporary home of Lime Wood, a hotel nestling in beautifully landscaped gardens. Decedent interiors, including panelled wood rooms and a stunning Spa, this hotel also has pet-friendly rooms too.

A Traditional Country Hotel

We adore this hotel, and it’s definitely one of our favourite luxury breaks in the UK. Filled with original artwork and antiques, The House At Beaverbrook is a beautiful country hotel set in 400 acres of woodland and grounds in Surrey. While away the hours in their spa with a range of wonderful treatments on offer.

Fall In Love With The Lakes

Only 15 minutes from the M6, the Lakeside Hotel & Spa on Lake Windermere in the Lake District has beautiful views across the lake including many rooms which look directly over the waterfront. The food is fabulous too, combining traditional Cumbrian ingredients with an incredible selection of fine wines.

A Historical Hotel

Gray’s Court, York, Yorkshire, is a pretty unique find. This fantastic hotel’s history dates back to the 11th Century and boasts Norman origins and some spectacular interior design details. We love the 90ft long Jacobean, oak panelled gallery and mix of French and English antiques and elegant styling.

Our Top UK Travel Tips

* Be prepared for the Great British weather. Even in mid-August, there are days when it feels more like October, so be wardrobe ready for our summer weather!

* Before booking your luxury getaway, give the hotel a call to find out if there are any weddings at the venue or big party bookings. The last thing you will want is to be sharing your intimate, relaxing retreat with 50+ wedding guests, primed to party.

* Summer is the time when the combination of road repairs and summer holiday traffic can really choke up our road network. Be prepared by planning your travel time (avoiding peak times), route and last-minute check on traffic updates before you leave home.

* If you’re packing for a country break, don’t forget your waterproof walking boots. An overnight shower can turn a countryside path into a deep muddy bog. And if you plan to explore the city, choose comfort over fashion. You want to be enjoying the experience not trying to search out the nearest chemist for blister plasters.
