Each year at the Longines Royal International Horse Show, they hold a very special Ladies’ Day, which is on Saturday 29th July this year. It’s an extremely stylish affair which the MirrorMePR team here love to watch, so what are our top style tips for ladies looking to make a fashion statement this summer.

Heads Above The Competition

A hat or fascinator is going to add that ‘wow’ factor to your hat, and we adore the Timothy Foxx headwear collection. Choose something big and bold. These pheasant feathers add something beautiful to a simple fascinator and add a subtle countryside connection to your overall outfit as well as giving you the opportunity to play with more earthy tones in your accessories.

Dressing With Purpose

Your dress should be elegant (just above the knee or longer) and flatter your figure. Choose a pop of colour or pattern but remember to tie all your accessories in so that they compliment the overall look of your outfit. A Trouser suit of matching material and colour can look equally as fabulous with a flash of brilliance through a patterned top underneath that picks out the colour but adds some interest to an otherwise simple combination. Keeping it classy is key, so keep your shorts, midriffs and minis for the beach!

Winning Accessories

Your choice of accessories is going to be mainly dictated to by your outfit. If your outfit is big bold in print or pattern, keep your jewellery to a simple cuff bracelet or just a small pair of earrings. If your outfit is plain, then go big and bold on the jewellery front. This Sylvia Kerr Jewellery Farah Piece is simple in design and will make a big impact to your look and is the perfect equestrian touch to your outfit. Bags need to small (Yes, that will mean not being able to carry everything but we promise it will look better!) And again compliment your outfit. A plain dress with a pop of colour through your choice of handbag, heels and hat brings together the whole look. These Spanish Boot Company Tassels are the perfect way to colour co-ordinate your outfit quickly by adding to your handbag with stunning effect!

Heels

Do go for heels but tread carefully (literally) If you are planning on walking with elegance on grass wear pointed stiletto heels with caution. Sinking into the grass and losing your shoe in the turf won’t be your most defining style moment. Wedge shoes and heels with a square heel can look equally as elegant but the chunkier the shoe, the lighter the colour, so you don’t lose the elegant balance from the rest of your outfit.
