Real women rock country and equestrian clothing #fact
Through the rise of the super blogger and social media, real women are having their voices heard, their stories told and their wardrobes revealed. For our industry sector this rings true also. Recently, the MirrorMePR Country PR Team were chatting to one of The Spanish Boot Company’s Style Advocates, Lady Gun aka Jaime about writing a blog for our client’s website and put it to Jaime to write about something she felt passionate about.
Jaime started chatting to us about the fact she was so pleased that our clients did wide calf boots and how they made her feel good about herself. Often she just felt hugely embarrassed trying on boots that just wouldn’t go around her calves. We thought this was a such a powerful sentiment from such a gorgeous woman who wanted to feel she had a choice when in reality there isn’t much out there, so we asked her to write about her experience and put her thoughts on a blog for our client. Chatting with Jaime also got our PR & Marketing brains working over time and spurred us to look into promoting our client’s fantastic collection of country wide fit boots in a PR campaign too; The campaign received such a great response and comments from so many journalists too. Jaime’s fantastic and inspirational blog If I Can’t Wear My Boots I’m Not Going is certainly one of our favourites.
Another inspirational blog we read recently was written by the talented equestrian portrait photographer and blogger, Sophie Callahan who also shared with the world her outfit and her quest to just be happy with herself in a brilliant blog What I’m Wearing To HOYS- Country Clothing For Curvy Girls. is another that really made us smile and nod in agreement as we related to so much too.
We were inspired by women with our hugely successful PR & Marketing campaign #equetechrealrider created specifically for our equestrian fashion clients, Equetech, which focused on a search for real-life riders to appear in a very special campaign to celebrate the brands’ diverse customer base. The uptake on entries was incredible, and the final images of these gorgeous real women were stunning (seen here), with much love shared for and between our four deserving winners.
The rise of the super-blogger has also seen a fantastic wave of inspirational women talking about life, loves, sharing style tips and also their outfit inspo on Instagram. We love this super round-up from Cosmopolitan on the best curve fashion bloggers to follow on Instagram.
Whatever your shape, size or weight (Remember naturally willowy girls can feel self conscious too) we just love the fact that women are celebrating other women and supporting each other. Long may sisterhood stay!
