A Charity Book With 'Woof Appeal' - MirrorMePR

As you may have noticed, we are BIG dog lovers here at MirrorMePR so we are hugely proud to have sponsored the publication of a fantastic book for which every penny will go to an amazing dog charity…

Florence, Dog Detective: The Case of the Purple Poodle is a fast-moving, funny adventure book which will delight dog lovers of all ages with all profits going to help dogs in need, both here and abroad.

Florence, the four-legged heroine, is up to her whiskers in trouble. Her friend Petunia the poodle has disappeared, so Florence must find her and uncover the real villain. The only thing certain is everyone will know Florence was involved. Will it be for the right reasons, or the wrong ones?

Suitable for readers around eight years and upwards, the 175-page book is written by established author and journalist Carolyn Henderson, with line drawings by Amy Rachel Groft.

The book was inspired by a real-life Florence and her owner, Karen Ledger.

Karen has raised thousands of pounds towards rehabilitating and re-homing dogs through her fund-raising and re-homing project, ‘All Because of Freda’. She began her amazing efforts after taking Freda, a smooth-haired pointer who was rescued from dire circumstances in Cyprus, into her own home.

“This project started when Karen joked that I should write a book about Florence,” said author Carolyn. “Florence is renowned for being very clever and very naughty.

“The idea generated huge enthusiasm and book designer Paul G Harding – with whom I’ve worked on several books for mainstream publishers – and Amy agreed to help.”

Everyone concerned worked for free so that every penny goes to dogs in need, via carefully vetted rescue organisations here and abroad.
