It’s so exciting to see a brand new equestrian event in the States –not only the States, in fact, but actually in New York’s Central Park!
The Central Park Horse Show is presented by Rolex and will take place on 18 -21st September 2014. It is set to be one of the highest profile stages of US show-jumping history and will be the first-ever, outdoor four-day equestrian sporting event of its kind, attracting top professional riders from all over the world as they vie for top prizes. One of the highlights will be a live television broadcast of the $200,000 Rolex Central Park Grand Prix on Thursday from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m.
After the huge success of the London leg of the Global Champions Tour in August, which was also held in the centre of the city of London at the Horse Guards Parade Ground, it’s exciting to see New York looking to establish this event’s future with a commitment of 7 years.
Logistically it must have proven to be a huge headache for those involved and taken months of planning for the organisers, but the rewards reaped will include mainstream coverage of an equestrian event, huge crowds, celebrity faces and top riders – and more importantly raising awareness of our fantastic sport!
