Having just been to Your Horse Live, judging by the length we had to walk from the packed car park to the venue, coupled with the amount of shopping bags we spotted there, you start to wonder (and hope) that finally we are coming out the recession.
The equestrian industry has been hit just as badly as any other industry and no matter how established or big the brand, marketing budgets have been squeezed and buckles tightened. However, it finally looks like there is some signs of small recovery happening and events like Your Horse Live and Olympia are the highlight for many horse owners keen to pick up a bargain and watch the equestrian talent on show.
Although we didn’t get a chance to watch any of our associated riders in action, the feedback from their appearances has been great. Maria and Michael Eilberg ticked the dressage box and Jason Webb, the Australian Horseman showed off his skills again to packed audiences.
We also got the opportunity to catch up with two clients: Golly Galoshes and Verdo Horse Bedding, both of whom were having a brilliant show as were all the other PR’s and journalists that we bumped into there!
It’s great to see this event grow year on year and with the fall out that was Horse World Live back in 2012, where the company behind the show went into receivership, its great to see an event such YHL thriving during these difficult times.
We would love to see another big fixture to the equestrian calendar during the winter months and with HOYS and Olympia in the lead up to Christmas maybe there could be room for one in the early spring months? Here’s hoping!
