Looking for a taste of the countryside in the capital? We reveal our luxury lifestyle PR Team’s favourite places to eat, drink, escape and explore in London.

Escape

Whether you work or live in London, sometimes you need to escape the hustle and bustle. Just a short train ride away to North Greenwich railway station you can discover the beautiful space that is Oxleas Woods. With over 70 acres to explore this hidden gem on Shooters Hill features some of London’s most ancient woodland (over 8000 years old). Venture in, and you will discover Severndroog Castle, a small eighteenth- centre folly that features a fantastic viewing platform for your survey the view across London.

Eat

One of our favourite places to stop by for fresh produce that feels like it’s freshly gathered is The Farm Girl in Notting Hill.  Their food menu is exceptional, and their Garden Soup made from seasonal daily ingredients and served with toasted sourdough is a lush lunchtime fix. A delicious range of dishes that feel homemade with love and goodness, and a favourite amongst our luxury lifestyle PR team.

Drink

Looking for a countryside style pub to take a drink in London? We personally love The Spaniards Inn in Hampstead. Dating back to the fifteenth century and a Grade II listed building, the food and ambience make us feel like we’ve just stepped into the home counties. Their gorgeous walled beer garden feels like a little countryside retreat. Their range of classic British dishes and craft beers, cask ales, fine wines and artisan spirits await you. Five minutes walk from Hampstead Heath (another amazing green outdoor space on your capital doorstep).

Explore

If you live in London and love wildlife but haven’t explored the marshes that surround the capital, then you need to venture out into our marvellous marshlands. Tottenham Marshes offers miles of paths to explore and enjoy. If you enjoy a longer walk, you can also unite with the River Lee towpath and walk the eight miles up to the scenic River Lee Country Park.
