6 Ways To Make Staying In More Fun This Winter - MirrorMePR

Stuck at home but desperate for a night out? Our Lifestyle Team  shares six tips for making staying in this winter (almost) as much fun as going out, even if you can’t venture past your front door.

Zoom Drinks

Book ‘Quarantini’ drinks over Zoom with good friends. Keep it small and bring together your circle of friends for a long-overdue catch-up and a few drinks. And if you’re looking for love, how about trying a Zoom speed dating event? Yes, we’re on the fence with that one too, but it might be fun?!

Get Dressed Up

If you’ve been living in ‘leisure wear’ for the past six months, then getting dressed up might take effort, but we reckon it’s worth it! But if you don’t fancy dressing up, try on different outfit combinations and photograph each look and save them in a folder named ‘going out outfits’ on your phone. Doing this styling hack makes staying in fun this winter and will save you time and give you plenty of inspiration for future nights out.

Movie Night

Plan a movie night in with a classic film, complete with popcorn, drinks and lots of sweets. Choose a retro movie and sit back and reminisce about the first time you watched it:  The perfect way to escape for a few hours and bring back happy memories and leave you feeling all happy and fuzzy (or is that the e-numbers and sugar?).

Order A Take Out

Ordering a take-out from somewhere new or a different cuisine gives you the luxury of a night away from the kitchen and time to spend with the family. Lots of restaurants are now offering take-out or delivery, so it’s worth checking out your favourite restaurants to see if they are now offering this service. Put some tunes on, set the lighting and enjoy a delicious treat. We can’t promise though, that you won’t have to clear the table afterwards.

Cook A Fabulous Meal

Need some inspiration for dinner? How about fresh ingredients delivered to your door? Everything you need to do to cook up an impressive meal. We love All Plants for their delicious meal combos. Healthy and easy to cook, it takes the stress out of cooking, makes staying in this winter fun and brings the absolute joy of healthy eating!

Have A Dance Off

The average person can burn between 300 – 800 calories an hour dancing. Regardless of how many calories you might lose, it’s your stress levels that will be the biggest losers with some footloose action. Dancing raises your heart rate and causes the release of feel-good endorphins and reduces cortisol, a stress hormone, at the same time. We recommend a good old fashioned mirror disco ball  and disco lights to get the party started.

Staying in might be the ‘new out’ for many of us, but it doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy ourselves.
