So in the past we’ve seen painting elephants, and now we have Metro Meteor, the equine artist and former racehorse who is self-funding the veterinary treatment for his “bad knees” via his artistic flair with a paint brush!
Looking at the artwork Metro has produced it’s fair to say that despite his inability to see colours as we do (horses have limited colour perception compared to humans) he has a pretty good eye for art – so much so his artwork has now been snapped up by his local art gallery in Gettysburg in the USA!
In the course of his racing career Metro was successful enough, but now that he’s turned his hoof to a new career, it seems that everyone wants an original watercolour by this highly-strung middle-aged artist.
As well as paying for his own veterinary treatment, Metro also donates half of the money he earns to a retired racehorse charity, raising thousands of dollars for his fellow equines. In fact, we like his paintings so much, we are very tempted to get one of Metro’s paintings for the MirrorMePR offices!
Whilst his racing days might be well and truly over, Metro certainly has a promising career as an abstract artist, and he’s furlongs ahead of many humans already!
